Interstate rolling into a new place.
Now this is road tripping. This interstates are so nice. Smooth sailing and easy access to turn off when need to. Although the rest areas are no where near like the southern states that I am used to. They are absolutely still nice and they have playgrounds for that 5 minute stretch for kids.
We are 80 miles left and driven almost 300km to our home away from home for the week and have used barely to none gas.
Arriving into Minneapolis in the afternoon, thought it would be insane being rush hour but it was absolutely not horrible and still smooth sailing. Oh my soul felt like it has risen and was born again with the excitement of a new place. It was most definite on what the doctor has ordered, I am starting to feel like myself again.
Science centre notes will be their own separate posts, because there is a lot to say about them. They were fun. I still can't believe their free entry. And the second science centre we came to today upon arrival into minneapolis, parking only cost us $5 for two hours.
We passed a few semi trucks that were from BC and Alberta, the BC semi truck honked and we waved back. Well I should only say that M and I only waved back. The people who know us, will know that M is my personality, my kid. He loves everything I do. Sometimes its annoying haha, at first it was only sushi and all dressed chips he ended up liking of mine but now it is bugles. I can't win!
Checked off two science centres off our list this trip, Couldn't go to Duluth children museum because it is Monday and it was closed on Monday. We do not want to back track up so that will be saved for another trip. So instead we will go back to sioux falls and revisit that science centre that we enjoyd very much last time and it will be fun to go see it again on our way home.
The hotel in Fargo was very nice, and included breakfast this morning so that was a very good bonus. Beds were comfy and actually got some sleep last night but that is because I did not sleep with M. He is a horrible bed hog. At least with R I could just say move over and he moves over. Now at the house, the boys will share a room and Brad and I will have our own bed again.
Arrived at our home sweet home around 5pm, at first google took us through a so so place, and I was starting to get worried like oh my where did I book this house. The houses had ICE OUT etc signs on their windows. But then we got closer to the lake, and all of a sudden started seeing MORE and MORE people outside walking, running and I was starting to fall more and more in love with this neighborhood. As we driving closer and closer to the house, was seeing more and more kids, like HEAPS more and then saw the park not even a block away from the house and even more kids and families. Now this is my dream neighbourhood.
Could not relax and enjoy the house just yet, I took R and we went to target to get some groceries. I must have looked and felt like a local because someone asked me where the ice cream was. Good thing I saw and passed the ice cream earlier so I could inform them. Everyone here is so nice and friendly, you can easily make small talk and not feel guilty about intruding them because they are happy to make small talk.
Ended the evening with home cooked meal, shake and bake chicken with salad and then popcorn with a movie. The new Jack Black movie. Another best thing about coming into the states, having access to all the cool new Netflix shows to watch.
Talk soon,
